Cedar Downs is one of the few surviving Derby Racer rides left. The Derby Racer was the brainchild of Prior and Church who designed a fast, carousel like ride where the horses moved forward and back to simulate racing. At the end of the ride, one horse in each row would win the race. There are only two of these rides left in North America and one in the UK. Cedar Downs, which was moved to Cedar Point from Euclid Beach park, is much slower than it once was. For more information on the Derby Racer rides, see RideZone's Derby Racer page.
